Here I sit writing my first ever blog. Having never done this before I wonder what the “right way” is, but know there isn’t one. So I’ll take a deep breath, be as much myself as possible and simply talk with you. I wanted to debut my revised website on Thanksgiving. Why? Because I can’t think of a better holiday to express my deep gratitude to all those who have made this great, new site possible. They have shared creativity and technical knowledge. They have been patient with me during my various neurotic moments in this all-too-uncertain endeavor. My headlners are: Walker Evans (yes, of Columbus Underground) for his amazing website savvy and coding brilliance; Denise Hollerich for her artistic eye and great graphics; Brandon Presz, the man behind the lens on all the great photos; and last but certainly not least, Brave Ben for taking this first big step. Also, there are those whose suggestions and advice are in the mix — Theresa, Eric, David, Lori and Helen (my mom). Lori, of Alphastate Studios, is a steadfast friend and co-conspirator of enlightenment. My mom is my biggest fan (never doubting me for a moment) and the greatest source of inspiration any daughter could hope for. So isn’t Thanksgiving the perfect holiday for this launch?
This Enlightenment Blog is for yes, you guessed it, enlightenment. That is, it’s a place to ponder, to question, to share, to inspire to instigate and to conspire! It is a place for the magic of connection and the spark of communal creativity. Mostly I will be amazed and amused at what it will become.
I am an Enlightened Life Coach. Is that Enlightened Life Coach or Enlightened Life Coach? Always the former and hopefully sometimes the latter! My intention is to invite everyone to become conscious. As in awake. This is a blow-off-the-lid, burst through the glass ceiling, do what you would if you could not fail invitation. Hope you accept. But no worries, I’ll keep inviting you.
Peruse the site, there’s so much that I have added to what I offer. I hope you will join us at our upcoming end-of-year special events – the Enlightened Happy Hour (Friday, 11/30), our B&B Workshop/Retreat (Saturday 12/1-Sunday 12/2), and the Special Topic Seminar (Sunday 12/9). Simply go to the Calendar of Events for more details & to register.
So take a minute now, or better yet grab your journal and take a few minutes. To breathe, to quiet your mind and body, to center your attention at your heart. Breathe and bring to mind all that you love. Everyone, everything, every memory, every dream, yes all of it. Take your time, let it come and let it fill you with the glow of appreciation. Let this light grow brighter with each new loving thought. Doing this on Thanksgiving is great. Doing this every day or whenever we can remember to do so is even greater.
I look forward to our connection. Come back often and participate in the dialog. Let’s “commit to be conscious” and have the time of our life along the way!
